White tiles at Hillhead

The upgrade of Hillhead Subway station is really taking shape with the introduction of white tiles to freshen the platform.

As these pictures show, the ongoing redevelopment of Hillhead, one of the busiest on the network, is rapidly progressing and is on track to be ready for its scheduled completion date of summer next year.

A white tile finish throughout the popular station in Glasgow’s west end is being used to compliment the Subway’s ongoing re-branding as part of a multi-million pound Subway overhaul which will secure the system for future generations.

Other major improvements soon to be delivered at Hillhead include a permanent major public artwork by renowned artist Alasdair Gray, a relocated ticket office, the installation of two new escalators and much more.
