It’s back! Kids Go Free on the Subway this summer!

Children will once again be able to travel for FREE on the Subway during the school summer holiday.

The popular offer from Strathclyde Partnership for Transport was a huge hit last year and from 25th June until 17th August two children under the age of 16 can travel all day at no charge with a full fare paying adult.

This means that adults will save £1.20 per child for each return journey made.

I’d urge anyone looking for a great value, fun day out over the summer to hop on the Subway.”

SPT Chair George Redmond

SPT Chair George Redmond said: “SPT had a fantastic response to this promotion during the last school break and I would be delighted to see even more families taking advantage of this offer.

“I’d urge anyone looking for a great value, fun day out over the summer to hop on the Subway.

“Children love it and it is a brilliantly quick way to see many of the fantastic attractions across the city, including the award-winning Riverside Museum.

“The best thing is it will save you money as the kids won’t cost you a penny.”

Glasgow has lots to see and do and the Subway is a convenient way to get you there.

This summer SPT is partnering with Glasgow Life to celebrate the Summer at Glasgow Museums which is a programme of art activities running from 1 July – 13 August.

There are Glasgow museums from across the city taking part including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Riverside Museum and Scotland Street School.

These three museums have a great programme of activities and events for the family during the holidays and are all easy to get to on the Subway.

Visit the Glasgow Museums website for more information on the museums, their summer activities programme, how to get there and more.
