Christmas came early for commuters at Buchanan Street and Hillhead Subway stations today (Monday 24th December), as they were treated to free Snowballs by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport.
The festive treats were donated by manufacturer Tunnock’s and given out to customers who were heading home or making a last-minute dash to the shops.
SPT chief executive Gordon Maclennan said:
“On behalf of everyone at SPT, I’d like to wish all our customers a very merry Christmas. The Snowball giveaway is just our way of getting into the festive spirit early, and hopefully giving those brave souls who are making a last-minute dash to the shops in the city centre the sweet treat they need.
“As an extra festive gift, today also marks the start of our Kids Go Free offer, so children under 16 can shoogle on the Subway for free when travelling with a fare-paying adult. This is another way of saying thank you to our customers, and making sure they can get into the city centre quickly, easily and cheaply to enjoy all the festive treats Glasgow has to offer.”
More details on the Kids Go Free Offer can be found on our festive site.
