Glasgow’s West End Festival (WEF), the largest in the city, kicks off this weekend, promising a month-long programme of events for all ages and interests.
The 2013 festival will once again feature the popular Mardi Gras-style parade on Sunday 9 June and to help everyone soak up the fun, SPT will be running a six-minute Sunday service (normally eight minutes) between 11.30am and 6.30pm.
The Sunday parade runs from Botanic Gardens at 3pm, along Byres Road, up Dumbarton Road to finish at Kelvingrove Park around 4.15pm.
Partick, Kelvinhall, Hillhead and Kelvinbridge Subway stations are all ideally located for anyone wanting to get to the party by public transport.
Now in its 18th year, the programme for 2013 includes more than 400 events in some 80 venues across the west end of Glasgow, ranging from music and theatre, to walks, talks and community galas.
