ZoneCard prize winner announced

Philip Blair, pictured right, from Rutherglen, was presented with a year’s free ZoneCard travel recently after winning the prize draw for completing a week-long travel diary.

The prize draw, which takes place in autumn and spring, asks ZoneCard holders to keep a note of their travel habits for one week. Their diaries are then submitted and as a thank you, participants are automatically entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning free travel.

And if that wasn’t enough encouragement, all ZoneCard holders who take part also receive a £7.50 discount off their next ZoneCard purchase too!

Philip said:
“Of course I’m delighted and also a bit shocked that I’ve won. My travel expenses are a significant part of my outgoings and to have this taken care of for a whole year is fantastic.

“My cousin has just moved further afield too, so I’ll be travelling more than usual from now on, making my free ZoneCard even more of a treat.

Kenny McAlpine, pictured left, Head of Revenue Development at First ScotRail, met with Philip at SPT’s Buchanan Bus Station to hand over the prize and offer his congratulations.

Kenny said:
“It was great to see how genuinely surprised Philip was to have won and I’m sure he’ll put the savings to good use.

“The travel diary survey provides invaluable data about travel habits across Strathclyde so it’s good to be able to say thanks to those taking part by offering something in return.”
