Great Scottish Runners run on!

THE BANK OF SCOTLAND GREAT SCOTTISH RUN - The largest mass participation sporting event in the country , took place today.

The Subway will open early this Sunday (1 October) to help all those taking part in the Great Scottish Run make it to the starting line in good time.

The Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run is Scotland’s largest race and a key event in the city’s calendar, which see thousands of runners take to the streets of Glasgow for both the half marathon and 10k events.

All the stations will be open early and the first Subway trains will run from the city centre from 7.45am to ensure you arrive in plenty of time for your run.

This is the biggest running event in Scotland with many spectators lining the streets of Glasgow to cheer on the runners. With music and bands playing along the run, as well as some of Scotland’s finest bagpipers, helping to keep the runners motivated until the end.

The half marathon will start in George Square and finish on Glasgow Green while taking in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks along the way including the South Side’s Pollok Park and world famous Burrell Collection, Nelson’s Monument, the Clyde Arc and the Finnieston Crane before heading back for the grandstand finish on Glasgow Green.
