Congratulations to our #SummerOfMusic winner!

This year’s #SummerOfMusic was bigger and better than ever! Kicking off with some seriously exciting news, our collaboration with TRNSMT Festival and Capital Radio and the prize of playing an acoustic set at TRNSMT Festival! Entries flooded in, showcasing the amazing and talentented musicians we have in and around the city of Glasgow.

From the brilliant range of entries we recieved, 16 talented finalists were chosen to battle it out in our Subway stations for the big prize. Across the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of June, from 4-6pm, our finalists performed to crowds in our Partick, St. Enoch and Buchanan Street stations. From rock to blues, covers to original works and solo performers to bands, each of our #SummerOfMusic finalists brought something different and exciting with their performances!

Here’s who made it to the finals and performed at our stations:

  • Gordon Airlie
  • Ben Monteith
  • The Borrowed Blues
  • Tommy McGuire
  • Zoee
  • Megan D
  • Dylan Dickson
  • Conor McCarry
  • Conor Ferraioli
  • Betatone Distraction
  • Man of the Minch
  • Emma Brockett
  • Tom Vevers

Not only did we have some excellent music in our Subway stations but to make things even better for our Subway customers, our friends over at Capital Radio headed down to our stations to surprise five lucky customers with a pair of tickets to attend the TRNSMT Festival! Congratulations to Hayley Ritchie, Harry Mawby, Finton McCloskey, Sophie Shand and Tommy McGlynn, who will be going along to TRNSMT Festival for FREE!

After the performances had come to an end, it was now down to us to choose the winner and what a difficult decision this was considering the level of talent in our finalists. After much deliberation, we’re absolutely delighted to announce that our winner of our #SummerOfMusic competition and performing an acoustic set at TRNSMT Festival is…

Man of the Minch!

We can’t wait to see you perform your acoustic set at TRNSMT Festival on Saturday 30th June on the stage!

If you’re going along to TRNSMT Festival this weekend, make sure to head over to see Man of the Minch and give him your support.
