Subway Update

From Saturday 28 March the Subway will operate on one circle only.  We will continue to run the Outer Circle operating clockwise from Govan and stopping at all stations offering an six-minute service from 6:30am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday. The last train from Govan to the City Centre will depart at 20:42.  The last train will leave the City Centre for Govan at 20:55. The last train to leave the City Centre and go to all stations is 8:30pm.

Passenger numbers show that our busiest section is still West End to City Centre so maintaining the Outer Circle running clockwise is the best option to serve most people who still need to travel.  We will also be operating a limited My Bus service from Partick bus station to Govan bus station to replace a small anti-clockwise section of the Inner Circle to assist passengers who only need to travel this short distance.  MyBus will run from 7am to 9pm.

Moving to this revised operating model reduces the number of train drivers we need, reduces our maintenance requirements, and allows us to concentrate cleaning efforts. It builds better resilience into the Subway team protecting our staff in stations, drivers, maintenance team and cleaners while still ensuring we can run services for those who need to travel at this time.

From Tuesday 31 March, the car park at Shields Road will close.  Bridge St and Kelvinbridge remain open.

Please only travel if you are an essential key worker and your journey is absolutely necessary.

Follow Government and NHS advice:

– Wash your hands more often with soap and water for 20 seconds, use hand sanitizer gel if soap and water is not available, and wash your hands as soon as you arrive at your home.

– Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze. Please remember to discard used tissues immediately in a bin when you leave the Subway.

– Only travel if absolutely necessary and adopt good social distancing by staying two metres away from other people.
