Fastlink services to run every five minutes

Commercial bus operators McGill’s and Stagecoach have registered new Fastlink services which will provide, on average, buses very five minutes Monday to Saturday daytime and every 10 minutes during evenings and Sundays between the city centre and the new hospitals.

These bus operators have also indicated to SPT their commitment to comply with quality standards necessary to use the new Fastlink infrastructure, due to be fully operational this summer.

Within Glasgow’s city centre, Fastlink connects with Central Station, Queen Street Station and Buchanan Bus Station, it then runs along the Clydeside via the International Financial Services District, the Clyde Arc Bridge and Govan to the New South Glasgow Hospitals.

Through SPT working collaboratively with operators, other local bus services – registered to directly serve the hospital campus – will increase from 14 peak buses per hour currently to 68 peak buses per hour in May 2015.
