What is the Sustainable Travel Grant Scheme?

SPT has created a Sustainable Travel Grant Scheme to help organisations fund measures which help develop and implement their Travel Plan.

Applications may be made on behalf of local authorities, health boards, further education establishments and not-for-profit organisations such as charities.

Grants will normally be up to a maximum of 50% of the capital and revenue cost of facilities. The minimum grant available is £250 and the maximum is £1,000. The applicant will be responsible for securing the remaining 50% matching funding which should include an "in-house" contribution and may not come wholly from another grant scheme.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate the potential benefit of the investment by indicating the percentage of staff who would benefit and stating the anticipated weekly reduction in single occupancy vehicles.Additional credits will be given to applications where:

• A detailed travel survey has been carried out;
• A Travel Plan has already been agreed for the organisation;
• Or complementary control measures are in place.
