Glasgow Subway partners with Glasgow Short Film Festival
Glasgow Subway has partnered with Glasgow Short Film Festival (GSFF) for the annual festival where filmmakers and guests from more than 20 countries come together to showcase groundbreaking works of visual storytelling.
The film festival includes showings at various venues across Glasgow including Glasgow Film Theatre, Civic House, and Grosvenor Picture Theatre, all close to Glasgow Subway Stations. In a unique sponsorship with GSFF, attending International delegates who are there to showcase their short films, will be able to enjoy Subway travel courtesy of SPT during the festival.
The partnership will ensure that guests attending the Film festival will be able to travel between venues on the Glasgow Subway, providing the most convenient, fast and sustainable way of travel. All festival goers will also be encouraged to use the Glasgow Subway as means of transport during the three-day event, which starts 19 March, providing a quick and easy way for film enthusiasts to navigate the numerous venues, as well as offering a unique snapshot of Glasgow’s cultural vibrancy during the festival.
Richard Robinson, Director of Transport Operations at SPT, said:
'We are delighted to be able to work with Glasgow Short Film Festival during their annual event. As two prominent Glasgow institutions, Subway is proud to be involved in a partnership that celebrates both innovation and the art of storytelling.”
Louis Cammell, Glasgow Short Film Festival Marketing Manager, said:
'We're so pleased that SPT have joined us as partners this year. Thanks to them, our international guests will be able to travel between our city centre venues, Glasgow Film Theatre and Civic House, to our new home in the West End – Grosvenor Picture Theatre – free of charge. In a year when we aren't able to run the festival in CCA, their support is massive in helping us to deliver our mission of championing short films from around the world and across the industry. It helps us to do this as accessibly as we can, and we couldn't be happier to have teamed up with a historic Glasgow staple. The subway is one of the many things that makes the city one of the best in the world.'
The Glasgow Short Film Festival runs from 19-23rd March, find out more about the full programme here.
